LTT-1 (Learning, Teaching and Training Activity)
Event Date: 23.06.2025 – 27.06.2025
Event Location: Bilişim Vadisi - Istanbul, Türkiye

The first Learning, Teaching and Training (LTT-1) activity of the FutureCraft: Empowering Visionaries for Tomorrow's Dynamic Landscape – Future Literacy project, co-funded under the Erasmus+ KA220-ADU programme, brought together participants from Türkiye, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Norway and Finland for an intensive learning experience focused on future literacy and strategic foresight.

Hosted by Bilişim Vadisi, the training programme combined theoretical knowledge with practical workshops, group activities and real-life examples. Throughout the programme, participants explored how individuals and organisations can better understand change, identify emerging developments and prepare for multiple possible futures. The activity also provided an important opportunity for participants from different countries to exchange experiences, build networks and develop a shared perspective on future-oriented thinking.

The first day began with an introduction to Bilişim Vadisi and the official opening of the programme. Participants introduced themselves, shared their expectations and became familiar with the overall objectives and agenda of the training. The sessions then introduced the fundamental concepts of future knowledge and future literacy, including alternative futures, scenarios, megatrends and vision building. Participants also completed the Futures Consciousness pre-test and took part in practical workshops on horizon scanning and identifying signals of change using the PESTEL framework.

On the second day, the focus shifted towards participatory foresight methods and the production and use of future knowledge. Participants explored the Foresight Diamond framework and different approaches to scenario development. Through interactive group work, they used PESTEL variables and the Futures Table method to develop best-case, worst-case and wild card scenarios. Practical examples and case studies further demonstrated how strategic foresight can support decision-making and help organisations prepare for uncertainty.

The third day focused on strategic foresight and its application in organisational decision-making and planning. Participants learned how foresight activities can be structured within organisations and how insights about possible futures can be transformed into strategic priorities and action plans. During the workshops, participants used generative artificial intelligence tools to conduct horizon scanning for selected green and digital business ideas. They analysed and classified emerging developments and used the results to develop future-oriented roadmaps.

On the fourth day, participants explored the connection between strategic foresight, business model design and business model innovation. The Business Model Canvas was introduced as a practical framework for understanding and developing business models, while discussions highlighted how organisations can adapt their models to changing conditions and future uncertainties. Through a business model stress-testing workshop, participants tested their ideas against potential risks and wild card scenarios, identified areas for improvement and developed adaptive business model prototypes. The day concluded with the preparation of pitch presentations integrating strategic foresight into future-oriented business concepts.

The final day provided an opportunity to reflect on the learning experience and present the outcomes of the training. Participants completed the Futures Consciousness post-test and presented the adaptive business model prototypes they had developed throughout the programme. Closing evaluations focused on the learning outcomes, future applications and next steps. In addition, participants took part in a technical visit and campus tour, where they gained further insight into Bilişim Vadisi, its entrepreneurship ecosystem and the wider business environment.

Overall, LTT-1 was a successful and highly interactive learning experience that strengthened participants' understanding of future literacy and strategic foresight. By combining theoretical concepts with practical tools, scenario development and business model innovation, the training equipped participants with valuable knowledge and skills for navigating uncertainty and developing more resilient, adaptive and future-oriented approaches. The activity also strengthened international cooperation and created new opportunities for knowledge exchange among the project partners and participants.

LTT-2 (Learning, Teaching and Training Activity)
Event Date: 17.11.2025 – 20.11.2025
Event Location: Turku, Finland

The second Learning, Teaching and Training (LTT-2) activity of the FutureCraft: Empowering Visionaries for Tomorrow's Dynamic Landscape – Future Literacy project was successfully implemented in Finland. The activity brought together participants from Türkiye, Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Finland for a structured learning experience focused on entrepreneurial education, coaching methodologies and future-oriented skills for ecosystem enablers.

The core training programme combined entrepreneurial capacity building with practical coaching tools and future-oriented approaches. Through interactive sessions, group discussions, practical exercises and peer-to-peer learning, participants strengthened their ability to support entrepreneurs and start-ups in navigating uncertainty, identifying opportunities and developing more adaptive and future-ready solutions.

The first training day opened with a welcome session and an overview of the programme, including the learning objectives and expectations of the participants. The sessions focused on the role of trainers and mentors in start-up programmes and explored the transition from more directive approaches towards a coaching mindset. Participants also reflected on entrepreneurial journeys through real-life stories and experiences, with particular attention given to learning from failure.

A strong emphasis was placed on idea generation and opportunity spotting. Through hands-on exercises and structured ideation tools, participants explored different approaches to developing entrepreneurial ideas and identifying potential opportunities. The day also addressed team formation and team dynamics, supporting participants in understanding the importance of roles, shared values and effective communication within entrepreneurial teams. The programme concluded with reflection and peer learning activities.

On the second day, the focus shifted towards applied coaching and mentoring skills. Participants took part in live pitch practice and feedback sessions, gaining practical experience in supporting storytelling, pitch structure and presentation delivery. Workshops also explored customer discovery, testing assumptions and making informed decisions about whether to pivot or persevere. Through practical exercises, participants were encouraged to base entrepreneurial decisions on evidence and learning rather than assumptions or intuition.

The third training day introduced futures literacy and strategic foresight as important competencies for future-ready entrepreneurship. Participants explored multiple possible futures and worked with practical foresight tools such as Futures Wheels, Three Horizons and scenario thinking. Future-back planning, trend mapping and weak signal scanning were also introduced, helping participants understand how emerging changes and long-term developments can influence entrepreneurial decision-making and innovation.

The programme then continued with a technical and cultural visit designed to provide participants with direct insight into Finland's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. As part of the activity, participants attended the Slush event, gaining access to a globally recognised platform for start-ups, investors and ecosystem leaders. This experience provided opportunities to observe emerging trends, exchange perspectives and learn from international innovators and entrepreneurial success stories.

In addition, participants visited Business Turku, where they gained insight into the regional entrepreneurial support ecosystem. The visit provided valuable information about local innovation services, ecosystem cooperation and approaches to supporting start-ups and scale-ups, while also creating an opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices between different national contexts.

Overall, LTT-2 was a successful and highly practical learning experience that strengthened the capacity of participants as ecosystem enablers. By combining entrepreneurial education, coaching methodologies and strategic foresight with direct exposure to the Finnish and international start-up ecosystem, the activity equipped participants with new tools, perspectives and approaches for supporting future-ready entrepreneurs. The programme also strengthened international cooperation and created valuable opportunities for networking, peer learning and the exchange of best practices among the project partners and participants.
