"In Sight - Out of Mind" Youth Exchange
Event Date: 11.12.2023 - 18.12.2023
Event Location: Ørland, Norway

From December 11th to 18th, 2023, the TtB Association hosted the Erasmus+ project "In Sight – Out Of Mind" in Ørland, Norway. This international initiative brought together 36 young, active youth leaders from six countries—Portugal, Norway, the Netherlands, Turkey, Hungary, and Poland—who were eager to learn, grow, and make a difference. The project, funded by the Norwegian National Agency – Erasmus+ Ungdom under the Erasmus+ programme, aimed to promote peaceful communities by teaching stress and anger management techniques and fostering emotional intelligence.

The week-long project was filled with workshops and activities designed to empower participants with the tools to better handle stress and anger while improving their overall emotional well-being. Sessions like “Define My Stress” and “Trauma Responses” offered insights into natural reactions to stress and provided practical strategies to manage them. Activities like mindfulness exercises, meditation panels, and reflective games helped participants develop resilience and self-awareness. Group sessions also encouraged participants to analyze stress within team dynamics and find solutions through cooperation and communication.

Each evening, participants celebrated their cultures through lively cultural nights. Teams from each country shared their music, traditions, food, and dances, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual respect. This intercultural exchange became one of the highlights of the project, leaving lasting memories and strengthening bonds among the participants.

By the end of the project, participants reported not only improved emotional intelligence but also better stress management skills applicable in personal and professional contexts. Many participants highlighted the value of learning how to identify stress triggers, use mindfulness techniques, and maintain positivity. The project also served as a platform for fostering employability skills, enhancing intercultural collaboration, and inspiring future participation in Erasmus+ mobility programs.

Participants received YouthPass certificates to recognize their full involvement and the competencies they developed during the project. These certificates represented their growth and achievements while reinforcing the importance of self-reflection and lifelong learning."In Sight – Out Of Mind" successfully achieved its goals, leaving participants better equipped to create peaceful, harmonious communities. Through diverse activities, cultural exchange, and impactful discussions, the project proved to be an enriching experience for all involved.
